Tips from AIR topper Rachit Aggrawal
How to crack NEET-PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test entrance- Postgraduate) examination is an eye opener to many aspirants for the postgraduate medical course. Of course, he is worth listening to as he is the topper of NEET 2018 scoring an incredible AIR (All India Rank) rank of 1, scoring 975 marks out of 1200!
His secret to achieving this feat is sheer hard work, that too much in advance. He categorically says "The exam is difficult and one has to start preparing the way in advance’. He added, "I started preparing right from the first year of my MBBS; since MBBS subjects make the foundation for the exams”.
Rachit Aggrawal felt the pressure as he reached to the final year of his MBBS. Especially during the final internship, he found the real crunch of time. As the number of subjects was on the rise, the time management was the crux of the issues. Of course, his father, a radiologist by profession was a constant inspiration and help in coping with the multi-tasking of MBBS and NEET PG.
Rachit did his internship at the Civil Hospital, Rajkot. Allotting the schedule between the highly time-consuming internship and the NEET PG preparation was a herculean task by itself. He managed to strike a balance between the studies and the free time.
He chalked out a timetable giving due importance to time-based on how tough the subjects were and the duration to cover the same. That allocation and time management was something according to him helped to achieve this incredible achievement. He is planning to do his Master of Surgery (MS) in radiology or paediatrics.
Even though the social media like WhatsApp, Skype or Facebooks are distractors to students, Rachit took advantage of WhatsApp group. And he got himself fully involved with groups of experienced doctors and academicians who used to share new developments, important topics and even replied to our queries. He realised that there are there are many digital forums and classrooms where teachers from renowned colleges share their lectures. He could acquire additional knowledge from these lectures and notes during his internship, from the horse’s mouth.
There was sea change in the curriculum and pattern of NEET-PG examination just last year like
• The exam started on the online basis from 2017.
• The negative marking scheme was introduced.
This revision was confusing to many of the Post Graduate aspirants. But Rachit took a calculated risk of answering only those questions he was fully confident and leaving the not too sure questions unanswered, this helped him from given negative marks. There are four options for each question, and of course, it is a confusing situation to choose the right one. Even narrowing down to the most probable two is a wild guess to many.
Dr Rachit Agrawal also has another distinction of being the first topper in postgraduate exam from Rajasthan since 2013, the year from the NEET came into being. He passed out MBBS from PDU Government Medical College, Rajkot,
Scoring such a high score 975 to top the single- window entrance test for postgraduate studies in medicine, i.e.) NEET PG was a dream come through. He did expect a reasonably high rank but not the covetable number one. Hailing from Rajkot, he aimed to do medicine right from a young age. His turning social media in his favour was something appreciable.
Besides WhatsApp, he extensively used Facebook to get guidance from faculties across the country. Dr.DilipAgrawal , his father, an ophthalmologist and his elder brother Dr Rahil Agrawal, a senior resident doctor at Manipal University in Karnataka were his constant inspirations.
His dean at PDU Medical College, Yogesh Goswami went one step further telling that so far none from the state got this distinction. Especially Rachit studied in a Government Medical college, and that makes the achievement more remarkable.
The young prodigy, Dr Rachit Agrrawal was consistently a top-ranked throughout his academics. He even got double promotion one in school.
His hobbies are wildlife and travelling. He got Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation scholarship right from his 12th standard which he got 23rd rank. His positive attitude m hard work and dedication paid off. He used to spend at least 10 hours a day for NEET preparation.
His advice to the prospective NEET PG aspirants is simple. Out of the 20 off papers, one has to concentrate more on subjects like
• Pharmaceutical,
• Pathology,
• Medicine and
• Prevention and social medicine.
He focused the maximum during his internship on having better exposure to the pattern of exam.

NEET Faculties
All NEET aspirants want to study hard and ace the NEET test, we give our 100% but when it comes to the NEET faculty or NEET experts who are supposed to teach you further, is not qualified enough?
Having dealt with NRI students across the globe from major cities we found that students don’t have access to the required NEET teachers who are qualified to be a NEET Test Expert. Over a period of time student’s compromise with local tuition teachers or with school teachers, this results in achieving nothing.
When it comes to serious NEET medical preparation, you need a faculty who has trained NEET students in past, who knows about what you are preparing for, what is the paper structure, medical colleges you are targeting for, only then a faculty can help you for your NEET preparation.
To overcome this barrier we help students with the best of NEET faculties online, who have experience of more than 8 years and trained almost 1000+ students. They know the details to work on and areas to focus on your NEET prep. Your search for the NEET faculties will end here.
